This week in street - half year review

This week marks the half way point in my street photography journal project this year which goes under the title of “This Week in Street”. Every week for the last 6 months I have endeavoured to get out on the streets of Birmingham as much as possible to try to capture everyday life in the city on a weekly basis. The start of this project also marked a return to colour photography for me, after a year of focusing on content and composition by limiting myself to black and white photography only. Throughout the course of the first 6 months of this project I have further developed my tastes in relation to the particular the kind of light I like to shoot in, how colours play together in my images, and the kind of content I look for. It has been hard to stay focussed on the project with commercial work taking a lot of my time, my current solo exhibition with The REP - PRODUCTION - also taking a lot of time, and of course the unpredictability of weather in the UK. However, despite the challenges for the first 6 months of the project I have managed to build a good collection of images that have a consistent feel and look to them. Below are 26 of my favourite images from the first 6 months of the project.

Thank you for supporting me in this endeavour over the last 6 months!
